Nothing like jazz so unique, so those stories will be written on the fly, those that make life on the rhythms of clock
So, we have witnessed major events, and for reasons of time and we could not be working on activities that have been carried out in faculties and departments of the University of Carabobo.
In short, this is what we've seen to date.
SUNDAY APRIL 21, 2008
UC Jazz Orchestra and University Chamber Carabobo.
UC Jazz and Chamber Orchestra of University of Carabobo
The talents of two groups belonging to the University of Carabobo met to give the official start Jazz festival to VIII of our Alma Mater. With very interesting arrangements, which tried to blend the simplicity of a chamber orchestra with expressive of a jazz ensemble. Good for both groups, those who gave their best to offer a repertoire of quality and good taste. Special mention to the mezzo Nilda Lopez, who gave us a code charged issues of sensitivity and performance quality, showing how jazz can move to other areas safely.
TUESDAY 23 APRIL 2008
María Elena Millán
María Elena Millán
His voice has been seasoned in various musical expressions that have nourished. Pop, rock, jazz brasil and have been key ingredients that have been shown throughout his career, but jazz has always had a special place to volunteer in the beauty and versatility of her voice, which managed an exquisite way in the middle a demanding repertoire, arrangements loaded very well made and clean execution, outstanding. Thus, ownership and high quality interpretation, María Elena Millán gave us a tour of the music you like, that you enjoy and savor slowly, like good wine, enjoy shared by an audience that was delivered without problems into the arms of jazz .
The band
María Elena Millán was accompanied by a brass band made up of the outstanding Carabobeño Rafael Querales on bass and musical direction, always solid and dazzling, considered today one of the great bassists in the country. Of the electric guitar was commissioned Oswaldo Flores, offering notes and solos very strong, with personality and style, showing why it belongs to that privileged group of guitarists of our city. The piano was Reinaldo Fernandez, whom I have always considered an exceptional pianist with many resources and creativity to bring ideas from the keys. As a drummer Gerardo Urriera us how amazing it is technical and placing the rhythms in the right proportions, with clear thinking and decisive.
As always, María Elena Millán exceeded the forecast with a concert very well led, emotive and full of nuances that always gives jazz.
